2022 Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee £5 Crown Gold Proof / Platinum Jubilee 50p Gold Proof


The Royal Mint have commissioned a number of special edition proof coins to mark this momentous occasion, starting on 6th January 2022 with the release of the first 2 coins in the collection. Unlike the currency coins these coin will all feature a specially commissioned obverse which bears the commemorative Platinum Jubilee portrait of Her Majesty The Queen by John Bergdahl.
Platinum Jubilee £5 Crown (Issue Limit 400) reverse features a beautifully decorative reverse design inspired by the royal mantle, or robe, worn by Her Majesty at the coronation in 1953 by John Bergdahl features a regal design centralised by the quartered shield of the Royal Arms with the The edge inscription reads : SERVE YOU ALL THE DAYS OF MY LIFE. Celebrating 2022 Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Platinum Jubilee 50p (issue limit 400) The reverse features a bold, graphical design created by agency Osborne Ross, and is accompanied by a booklet which explores previous jubilee celebrations and features an introduction by Professor Kate Williams.




2022 Queen Elizabeth II 'Platinum Jubilee' JANUARY / FEBRUARY 2022 RELEASE NEW

Welcome to 2022, Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee year celebrating her 70 years on the throne. The coin releases come thick and fast, and we can show you some of the designs we will be seeing this year. In addition to the normal annual sets, the Royal Mint will also release a special edition Platinum Jubilee Collection, these coins will feature a Jubilee portrait of the Queen by John Bergdahl.
Five new coin designs are to be unveiled in the 2022 Annual Set, two designs dedicated to Her Majesty The Queen’s historic Platinum Jubilee. a 50p coin and £5 (Crown) coin, they feature reverse designs by the design agency Osborne Ross and the experienced coinage artist John Bergdahl respectively. Two new £2 coins celebrate the life and work of forces’ Sweetheart’ Dame Vera Lynn, and the legacy of Alexander Graham Bell, inventor of the telephone. Finally a 50p to welcome the 2022 Commonwealth Games to Birmingham. Although this set contains 2 of the platinum jubilee reverse designs all 5 coins feature Jody Clark’s 5th head portrait.
The Platinum Jubilee Collection will include the £5 and 50p above but as with all other platinum jubilee coins these will feature the special obverse portrait by John Bergdahl. Along with the release of the sets when we get to see all other coins in the collection, the Royal Mint will also be issuing a number of derivatives. These are likely to include 2oz-1kilo proof gold and silver versions, as seen with the 2021 95th birthday issues. Hot on the heels of January comes February 6th, the day itself of the Platinum Jubilee, and to mark the occasion a limited number of strike on the day sovereigns will be produced. Given the overwhelming success of the 2022 sovereign launch in November when all coins sold out within hours, we also expect this one to be in great demand.

2022 Queen Elizabeth II 'Platinum Jubilee' Proof Sovereigns and Sets

A special reverse design to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee of HM Queen Elizabeth II, who in 2022 will mark her 70th year a s Queen. To mark the occasion, renowned Royal Mint sculptor Timothy Noad famed for his one off designs of the 2002 and 2005 Sovereigns has reworked the royal coat of arms to produce a very special coin.

The sovereign range released on Monday 15th November 2021 completely sold out within hours, leaving many disappointed, on what has proved to be one of the most sought after UK coins released by the Royal Mint.

2022 Queen Elizabeth II Tudor Beasts 'Seymour Panther' 1/4oz - 1oz - 5oz 999.9 Gold Proof Coin - Box / COA - VERY LIMITED STOCK -

Introducing The Royal Tudor Beasts Collection the brand new series from the Royal Mint launched 6th October 2021 will depict all 10 Tudor Beasts of Henry VIII which stand on guard at the entrance to the famous Kings favourite Palace Hampton Court.

Originally representing Anne Boleyn, and Katherine of Aragon before her, the Seymour Panther was given to Jane Seymour, Henry VIII’s third wife, by the king from the royal treasury of beasts. Although the stone beast is depicted as a ferocious animal, with flames coming from its mouth and ears, the Seymour Panther symbolised a peaceful and loving union between the king and consort who bore him the male heir he so desperately yearned for.

2022 Queen Elizabeth II 'Lunar Year of the Tiger' 1/4 - 1oz 999.9 Gold Proof Coins

The Royal Mint’s Shēngxiào Collection combines British minting craftsmanship with centuries old Chinese traditions. Artist David Lawrence has created the eighth design of the series, working with The Royal Mint’s Coin Design team to create a design which summarises the characteristics of people born in the Year of the Tiger, self-possessed, have strong leadership qualities, are charming, ambitious, courageous, warm-hearted, highly seductive, and moody.
