2023 Bond Films of the 1970s - 1 oz 999.9 Gold Proof Coin - Box / COA

The second coin in the 7 coin series '6 decades of 007 films' is the 1970s, featuring Bond's famous Lotus Esprit as seen in the 1977 film The Spy Who Loved Me. Bond played by Roger Moore is seen using the iconic vehicle both as a car and a submarine in the movie which earnt the car the nickname of 'Wet Nellie'. After filming and a short tour the car was put into a storage locker in Long Island New York. After 10 years the lease on the locker came to an end, but no one came to claim the contents. The locker contents was purchased by a Tool Hire Shop owner for under $100 not knowing Bond's iconic Lotus was within. The car today belongs to Elon Musk who purchased it for £550,000 in 2013.
