Celebrating the 100th anniversary of the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb , The Royal Mints designer Laura Clancy has designed this superb portrait of 'King Tut' in all his splendour. The edge inscription shows the words "THE VALLEY OF THE KINGS", and this  commemorative UK £5 coin will be one of the very last coins to show HM Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse.

Tutankhamun was the most famous pharaoh to rule Ancient Egypt, his tomb lay in the Valley of the Kings for 3000 untouched until it was discovered by British Egyptologist Howard Carter on the 4th November 1922.
