Specially struck versions of the classic gold sovereign, struck with polished dies to create a mirrored finish to the field and a frosted one to the detail.

Obverse: Queen facing right wearing a tiara, initials IRB. denoting designer Ian Rank-Broadley raised below truncation.

Special design Reverse :

2002: Shield design based on the original Victorian (1838-1887) Ensigns Armorial with plain shield surrounded by laurel leaves and crown. The initials TN denoting designer Timothy Noad placed within laurel leaves to the right of the shield.
