2022 Queen Elizabeth II Strike on the Day Full Sovereign (Platinum Jubilee)
Struck on Sunday 6th February 2022 to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee day of HM Queen. Just 1200 of these have been made available with the Royal Mint opening especially on a Sunday for the striking of these coins, which all sold out within 29 minutes of release. This special sovereign differs from the 2022 proof and bullion versions in that it has a matt finish and is plain edged.

Wont be too many opportunities to obtain a fine example of an affordable platinum jubilee artefact and unlikely to come again in my lifetime, given the age profile of Charles and his likely successors; I'm bitterly disappointed with the Royal Mint (as I've been a member for years and hold multiple annual 4-coin gold proof sets going back to 2005 and many more gold items but couldn't get this or the four-coin set from them, despite having been on the phone for 45 mins) - but Clive sorted this without overpricing...thank you Clive et all
