The 2012 Sovereign is now here, and as expected to celebrate the Queens Diamond Jubilee the mint have created a new one off design, the new design by Paul Day is a redesign of the St George and the dragon Reverse used on the sovereign since 1817, and is only the 4th time in the history of the coin that the reverse design has been changed,
The year sees lower mintages of the 5 coin Proof Sovereign set at only 999 sets being produced, and only 5,500 proof sovereigns.,
